Frequently Asked Questions
Where does photo shoot happen?
All shoots happen at client’s location, typically in a garage, shop, barn or other indoor location. You can send me cell pics of the location OR I can come scout it for suitability.
When does the photo shoot happen?
Because of my unique lighting, I need to work in nearly dark conditions. This can be any time of day depending on location or after the sun sets. Basically, I need to get rid of ambient light and am very clever in my ability to do so.
How long does a shoot take?
It is good to plan for about 3 hours. Depending on the location and vehicle, it can take an hour to stage and up to two hours to photograph.
What does it cost?
You can’t find another photographer with my style of presentation. The style is not only driven by my eye and perspective, but how I light the subject. This requires several hours of computer work after the shoot to produce a truly one of a kind print. Scroll down to see a video of the process. The price for a commissioned shoot starts at $400.
What if I need to cancel. Can I get a refund?
Yes – you can at any time, less a $50 scheduling fee.
Where are you located?
I’m based in Saint Paul, MN and am currently accepting commissioned projects within about 5 hrs driving distance from Saint Paul (MN and western WI down to about Madison, WI)
What do I get?
You’ll recieve a 20″ x 30″ non-archival print and a file suitable for social media. There is an additional $85 charge for a 100 yr, archival quality print.
Is there a money back guarantee?
If you’re not completly satisfied with the end product, I’ll refund 50% of the fee, no questions asked.
Alec is a very skilled photographer. He has transformed our cycles into amazing works of art. Cant wait to do some shoots in the very near future.
Alec shot my ‘Cuda and Triumph. He’s awesome to work with. And I got a free print!
He took my custom bike, Green Onion, and gave me a stunning motorcycle portrait that is a centerpiece of conversation in my shop and at home. It’s kool and I like watching Alec “goin’ tight” with his photographic art.
